Everyone knows who Kylie Jenner is and her cosmetics line, her infamous lip kits were notoriously hard to get at the beginning of her launch. As the company reaches it’s first anniversary, her matte liquid lipsticks are now getting easier and easier to get. With frequent restocks, many new colour additions, and the introduction of other type of makeup, Kylie Cosmetics has made a household name for itself. For a set of one matte liquid lipstick and a matching lip liner, USD 29 (about 200rmb) is quite a decent price. Now that her company has expanded, customers can now buy the lipstick and the liner separately. However, the singles do not come in all colours just yet. Wear alone, line with your favourite lip liner, or top off with your favourite lip gloss, these lipsticks stay all day without totally drying out your lips. Kylie’s lip liners are the best ones I’ve ever tried, it goes on so smoothly and barley tugs on my lips, they are also super pigmented! You really only need one swipe to get full coverage on your lips. I would not recommend using a chapstick as a base before using the lipstick unless you want sticky lips. When using these lipsticks, AVOID OILY FOODS! Like every other brand out there, oil is not a friend to lipsticks, liquid or solid. Kylie’s lip kits are ultra pigmented and she recommends putting only one layer of the liquid lipstick. The thing I don’t like is that while her dark colours are pigmented, the formula has yet to be perfected. The darker colours tend to be more patchy and uneven, the light colours have no problems whatsoever. I’ve tested out both light and dark colours (Exposed, Candy K, Posie K, and Leo) and they’ve lasted the whole day for me, although it does feel a little dry later on. If you don’t like the feeling of the dryness, put some lip gloss on top of it. I prefer lip gloss to chapstick because chapsticks make the lips super sticky and if you press your lips together the lipstick comes right off. The other thing I don’t like is that I don’t have dry lips, but using matte lipsticks, especially liquid ones, really make your lip lines more pronounced so they have the appearance of being dry. When you remove the lipstick, your lips aren’t dry at all unlike other brands. I’ve heard a lot of people complaining about how strong the smell is when they open up their tube of Kylie’s lip kit. I personally don’t think the smell is that strong, it reminds me of more subtler version of Bonne Bell Vanilla lip gloss. Don’t worry, the smell disappears once you apply the lipstick. Overall, I really do like Kylie’s Lip Kits. The staying power alone is amazing and the it takes a good makeup remover to rub it off.
